The Subaru brand has a well-deserved reputation for engineering reliable, well-equipped vehicles with solid capabilities. As you search for an amazing crossover SUV today that can keep up with your busy lifestyle, the 2023 Forester and the 2023 Outback will undoubtedly rise to the top of your list. While you can appreciate several similarities between these well-designed models, many differences may ultimately impact your model selection. What should you know about the 2023 Forester and the 2023 Outback?
Performance
The 2023 Subaru Forester has one engine offered for all six of its trims. This is a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter, 182-horsepower unit. A continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are included. Select Forester trims add higher ground clearance and a few additional drive modes. There are two engine possibilities for the 2023 Subaru Outback across nine trim levels. The lower trims are powered by the same 182-horsepower system that the Forester has. A turbocharged, 260-horsepower variant is in the higher trims. Select Outback trims also come with a lifted suspension, off-road drive modes, and hill descent control.
Appearance
While the Forester and the Outback have some shared design elements, such as a downward-angled grille and LED-enhanced, diamond-like headlights, they are easy to tell apart on the road. On the 2023 Forester, the black bumper is set off by a metallic skid plate. This molding trends toward the rear and thickens as it passes over the fenders and the lower door panels. The 2023 Outback has a dark skid plate and rounded, small foglights. The molding across the Outback is comparable to that of the Forester. However, the Outback leans forward slightly, and the small upward tilt enhances this look at the rear.
Features
You will have access to the quality materials and modern features you want regardless of the selected Subaru model. The Outback and Forester share items like a power liftgate, leather material, driver's memory settings, driver monitoring, a navigation system, a Harman Kardon audio system, a heated steering wheel, heated seats in both rows, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, automatic climate management, and forward collision mitigation. The Outback comes with a few other trims in some of its trims, including rear automatic braking, a digital rear mirror, a frontal collision system, and contrast stitching.
