With possibilities like the 2023 Impreza and the Legacy in the lineup at Farrish Subaru, you understandably need to check out the differences between these options as a next step. After you take a detailed look at the Legacy sedan, the Impreza sedan, and the Impreza hatchback, which option will you decide is right for you?
Performance
Whether you choose the Impreza sedan or hatchback, one powertrain is available for all four trims. The Impreza receives 152 horsepower from a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine. A five-speed manual transmission is in the base trim, and the higher trims are loaded with a continuously variable transmission. For the 2023 Legacy, the first few trims draw 182 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter system. The powertrain offered for higher Legacy trims is a turbo 2.5-liter system that delivers 260 horsepower. These are both paired with a continuously variable transmission. All trims for the Legacy and the Impreza have all-wheel drive.
Appearance
Both the Impreza sedan and the hatchback have sleek styling with a fluidly cascading hood and a strong angle down the roofline. The nose is styled with a thin grille, a wide lower fascia, and chrome-enhanced air vents. The Impreza’s style is also defined by large headlights that are outlined on two sides by an LED light bar and by molded side fenders. The Legacy is athletic from end to end, with strong accents running down the sides and hood. This sedan boasts a larger grille that is topped by a chrome bar. This bar intersects the LED headlamps. The Legacy’s lower fascia is smaller, and C-shaped air intake ports with foglights flank it.
Features
For select trims, the 2023 Impreza and the 2023 Legacy share numerous safety and cabin features. These include smart device app connections, a central display screen with voice functionality, leather material, a Harman Kardon audio system, a sunroof, rear auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, and more. Higher Legacy trims are also available with a driver monitoring system, power-folding mirrors, and a wide-angle camera.
