Serving Fairfax, VA

The sporty WRX is a compact sedan that has boldly stood out in the Subaru lineup for years. Now that your attention is trained on the WRX, you need to decide between the 2021 version or the new 2022 version. For the 2022 model year, the WRX shows off stunning updates as a next-generation version. Our Farrish Subaru associates are available to help you get more familiar with both options.

Performance

In 2021, the WRX is available with two powertrains. The first three trims pull 268 horsepower from a turbo 2.0-liter engine. Other trims enjoy 310 horsepower from a turbo 2.5-liter engine. Both powertrains are mated to a six-speed manual transmission and have all-wheel drive. For 2022, the WRX has a turbo 2.4-liter boxer engine that generates 271 horsepower. It is offered with the same transmission and drivetrain as you will find in the 2021 version.

Appearance

The WRX has an aerodynamic profile with a power scoop in the hood for both model years. The nose is rounded, and the lower-front fascia makes a confident statement. For 2021, the black grille is separated from the large, angled headlights. For 2022, the grille has sharper edges with a honeycomb grille. The headlights are smaller, with sharply angled LED light bars that cut through them.

Features

The 2022 WRX boasts a revised interior with a roomier cabin. It also has modernized technologies, including an updated infotainment system screen and a tablet-like display screen. Both versions of the WRX have keyless entry, a push-button starter, USB ports, an auto air conditioning system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, leather upholstery, lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and other gear.

With changes to the style, performance capabilities, and features throughout the next-generation WRX, a detailed look at both options is in order. Farrish Subaru is proud to be your source for a closer look at the 2021 and 2022 WRX. Make plans for your WRX test drive today.
